Sara Anderson focuses on designs that feel at home for women who seek out an organic lifestyle as well as well-traveled, sophisticated women who seek an authentic, sensual experience from the designs they live with.
While most people credit art school for launching an artistic career, Sara Anderson’s art immersion began at birth.
“My father was in art school when I was born and later, both of my parents worked at the Cleveland Museum of Art,” Sara explains. “When my dad got into advertising, I was thrilled to handle the mechanical layouts and storyboards. My first exposure to the world of graphics began on my dad’s knee."
Sara quickly exceled as a student artist. “My poster work was exhibited at the University of Georgia Art Symposium and the High Museum of Art.” Sara explains.
Sara attended the Maryland Institute College of Art on scholarship.
After college, Sara managed remodels and decorating for a national sorority. This experience integrated her two passions: art and interiors.
Sara continued to teach art, take on private commissions, and create illustrations for events while raising her children. Recently Sara’s daughter headed to college become an opera singer.
“I love the extra bandwidth. I am taking my experience with private commissions and applying it to marketable designs for interiors and domestic products.”
Sara is currently working with the Museum Store of the High Museum of Art to develop a line of signature gift items based on her designs.
