Translating Motion & Emotion onto Canvas
My creative purpose is to capture and preserve these fleeting moments, ensuring the vision doesn’t disappear, and to share that experience with my viewer. Travel is a continuous catalyst for this work, offering profound inspiration whether through the awesome vista of an unfamiliar landscape or the quiet elegance of a cultural arrangement—I am perpetually moved by how others share what is beautiful to them.
My paintings are built upon a dynamic juxtaposition of line and color.
The process begins with a foundational soft charcoal application, creating a loose definition that is integrated into the final work. Having initially studied drawing and printmaking, I am keenly aware of the contribution of a beautifully created line, which the charcoal allows me to bring into the painting. Throughout the work, I am mindful of the initial inspiration while remaining open to the surprises that emerge.
The resulting piece is the balance I endeavor to share: a dialogue between the intentional mark and the accidental grace of the process.
My work is driven by the conviction that self-expression is essential to human fulfillment, with the visual arts serving as my primary language. I draw inspiration from the wellspring of beauty inherent in the world, seeking observations from the grand scale of nature and its rich textures to the intimate detail of light captured on a simple, domestic setting.

St. Simon’s has been my family’s home away from home for my whole life. Some of my favorite memories are days spent there wrapped up in the salt air and sun. It is a quiet sanctuary for my family—a place where time slows down, and the ocean seems to sweep away the noise of everyday life. When I set out to create this piece, I wanted to catch that exact feeling: the way the coastline drifts gently into the tide, the sparkle of the sea, and the way a place can hold onto sweet memories even after you’ve left the beach.
